The tour will begin in the Medina of Marrakech , one of the many UNESCO World Heritage sites from Morocco. The medina is surrounded by approximately 12 miles of sandstone giant walls, and the skyline is dominated by the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque. Here you can visit the Saadian Tombs and the close by Badi Palace and Bahia Palace,than continue to Ben Youssef Medersa, the largest Islamic college at its time, and reach the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, filled with food stalls, snake charmers, dancing monkeys, musicians, henna artists.Day 2:
Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert
We leave Marrakech at 7 in the morning by crossing the High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 meters altitude ) towards Ait Benhaddou village, the fortified ksar with it’s beautiful Kasbahs where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the magic and history of the place and walk to the top of the hill to admire the whole village with the help of a local guide. Afterwards, we will be heading to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Sahara” to visit the beautiful Kasbah of Taourirt (home to the former Caid Pacha Glaoui) and the museum of Cinema . After lunch , we continue our desert trip to the city of Zagora, where the camels await to take you to the sahara desrt camp just in time to witness the majestic sunset and take memorable photos. Once you arrive at the desert camp, you are welcomed by the staff, given you tents and gather for a mint tea session . The night in the desert camp has a clear sky and you can see countless stars. After a nice home made dinner, we gather around fire to enjoy a session of singing, dancing and laughing around fire, share beautiful moments and forget the world.Day 3:
Zagora Desert – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
the third day of our desert tour will start with an early awake up before sunrise to see the first lights of the day in the sahara desert . After a typical breakfast in the desertv camp of Zagora,you ride back the camels to meet your driver, then start our journey backing to Marrakech, you will pass via Ouarzazate and have free time for lunch in a local restaurant, In the afternoon, you will continue via the Atlas Mountains, We arrive back to Marrakech around 5 pmDay 4:
MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA:
After breakfast, free visit to the city of Marrakech, and the vas souks of the medina, lunch at a local restaurant and departure to Casablanca.
Please note: Zagora does not offer big dunes compared to Erg chebbi Sahara sand dunes in Merzouga or Erg chegaga. Zagora is a black and rocky desert.
