Itinerary
Experience the Highlights of Morocco right from day one, upon your arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, you'll begin your journey by transferring from the airport to the city center. Overnight in Casablanca.
Starting our second day from Casablanca to Fes via Rabat and Meknes, we begin with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, for its stunning design and the tallest minaret in the world, and modern marvel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Then head to Rabat, founded in the 12th century, visit the highlight monuments like the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower. After a quick lunch, continue to Meknes, established in the 11th century, to see its imperial sights such as Bab Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, arrive in Fes, founded in the 9th century. Overnight in a traditional Riad.
With a Local guide, You'll discover architectural wonders such as the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in the 9th century and considered one of the world's oldest universities, and the Medersa Bou Inania. Leave the vibrant Fes behind and journey towards the Sahara Desert. Traverse the picturesque landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through quaint Berber villages and scenic valleys along the way. As you arrive in Merzouga, prepare for an unforgettable adventure. Embark on a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, guided by experienced Local nomads.
Experience the magical spectacle of the sunset over the Sahara as you make your way to a traditional Berber camp nestled amidst the dunes. Enjoy a hearty Berber dinner under the starlit sky, accompanied by local music and storytelling, immersing yourself in the tranquillity and serenity of the Sahara Desert.
Before sunrise, our camel guide will rouse you for an early start, leading us back as the sun emerges on the horizon. We'll pause along the route to savour the sunrise. Upon reaching the hotel, our journey proceeds to visit Arfoud's fossilized marble factory before heading to Touroug to explore ancient underground irrigation systems.
The adventure progresses to the Todra Gorges, renowned for towering vertical walls—a haven for climbers. After a brief hike to admire the stunning gorge, we venture to the Dades Valley through Boumalne, making stops for picturesque snapshots along the way.
Experience the transition from the rugged beauty of Dades Gorges to the lively streets of Marrakech, with a detour through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. Marvel at the ancient kasbahs and mud-brick architecture of Ait Benhaddou, nestled amidst desert landscapes. Resume your journey through picturesque valleys and rugged terrain towards Marrakech, where vibrant souks and iconic landmarks await exploration.
Get into the vibrant soul of Marrakech, wandering through the bustling Medina's labyrinthine alleys and vibrant souks, dating back to the city's foundation in 1070 by the Almoravid dynasty. Admire architectural wonders like the Koutoubia Mosque, constructed in the 12th century, and Bahia Palace, built in the late 19th century, steeped in history and intricate design. Lose yourself in the colours and scents of the Majorelle Garden, established in the 1920s by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, before immersing yourself in the lively atmosphere of Djemaa el-Fna square. During the spring and summer months, it will be hot during the day and at night, so long, loose layers that cover and protect from the sun, along with something to cover your head, are essential. In winter, it gets colder at night, so warmer layers may be necessary to stay comfortable while camping. When camel trekking, avoid wearing shorts to prevent chafing
This dress code varies depending on your location in Morocco. In modern urban areas, there’s less concern about attire. However, out of respect for the culture, it’s advisable to dress modestly, ensuring both men and women cover their shoulders and knees. This practice is especially important in smaller, more traditional communities outside major cities.

Most camel treks in the Moroccan Sahara Desert last between an hour and an hour and a half. Typically, a group will leave from a hotel on the edge of the desert and will trek through the dunes being led by guides and camel handlers until arriving at the campsite. It is possible to ride camels for shorter periods at many other locations in the country.
It is not required to bring a sleeping bag for Sahara camping as we provide beds, covers and blankets at our Luxurious camps.
